Bio
Dr. Duncan Grady is of Siksika/Sauk aboriginal and Scottish heritage. He has a doctorate degree in Divinity specific to Creation Spirituality. He teaches First Nations Studies, courses on peace and counseling skills in the Human Service program at Selkirk College. He has traveled to Peru, India, Indonesia, Mexico, and Europe and throughout the United States and Canada sharing culture, ceremony and spiritual practice with native and non-native peoples. He is trained as a psychotherapist and uses traditional flute playing, storytelling and ceremony to foster connection among people.
Duncan has spent the better part of the last 35 years working in addictions treatment programs, responding to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in clients and teaching at colleges and universities.
In addition to this, he is an avid poetry and short story writer. He loves to travel on his motorcycle. He plays the native flute and is a traditional story teller. He is still "being raised" by his elders. Culture is important to him and he attempts to bring cultural teachings into as much of his course work as possible.
