Bio
Angus obtained a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from the University of British Columbia and was employed as a professional Forester before beginning his career in post-secondary education.
He began instructing at Selkirk College in 1992 and has since remained at Selkirk College. Concurrent to being an instructor, Angus served as a Department Head and then a School Chair for the School of Renewable Resources.
In 2004, he completed a Masters Degree at Royal Roads University and moved into a Dean of Instruction position, overseeing a large administrative portfolio at Selkirk College. In 2008, Angus joined the executive team in the position of Vice President, Academic and Student Development.
Since Marilyn Luscombe’s (former President) departure in December 2010, Angus has been serving as the Interim President of Selkirk College.
Angus knows that the community college plays a profoundly important role in the Canadian socio-economic landscape; one of providing accessible, relevant and compelling higher learning critical to the growth and development of a resilient civil society. He believes that learners and the community are at the centre of the work of the community college.
