Bio
Gerry Lettner is the instructor for GCOOL 107 Turfgrass Management.
Gerry introduced a Turfgrass Studies diploma program at Fairview College, Fairview, Alberta, in 1976. It was the first comprehensive postsecondary program available in Western Canada. During his 32-year career, he advanced and expanded Turfgrass educational curriculum and the profession of golf course superintendent. In 2006, the CGSA recognized his dedication by awarding him the John B. Steel Distinguished Service Award.
In 2008, Gerry moved from Fairview to Jasper, Alberta, where he resides with his wife Alice. Gerry accepted a contract with Selkirk College in the fall of 2008 and subsequently converted existing Selkirk College Turfgrass curriculum material for online delivery. Gerry saw this as "...a fantastic opportunity to introduce new curriculum into the Golf Club Operations online certificate program."
