Bio
Bryan Ewart is the instructor for:
- GCOOL 105: Golf Shop Operations
- GCOOL 110: Tournament and Special and Event Planning
Bryan is an alumnus of the Selkirk College Golf Club Management and Operations program (1999). He considers himself very fortunate to have a career in the golf industry, a career he is very passionate about.
Bryan has been employed in the golf “biz” since 1996, starting as golf shop attendant at Northlands Golf Course in North Vancouver, BC. Northlands was a great start in golf as it gave Bryan the opportunity to see the inner workings of a course as he was hired prior to the course opening. After spending two quick seasons at Northlands and completing the Selkirk College Golf Management Program, he had the opportunity to work at Furry Creek Golf & Country Club as the tournament and special event coordinator.
After a couple of years planning events, Bryan took over the management of golf operations at Furry Creek; including the golf shop, retail, outside guest services, first tee hosts and players assistants, on course food and beverage as well as the maintenance of a fleet 80 of brand new Club Car golf carts, and 50 sets of TaylorMade rental clubs.
More recently, Bryan has continued his employment with the parent company of Furry Creek; GolfBC Holdings Inc. His current job title of Corporate Retail and Revenue Manager, provides him with the opportunity to liaise with GolfBC’s seven golf courses, managers and team members, the suppliers who provide their services to our business and the guests that make it all worthwhile.
The great game of golf has provided Bryan many wonderful and unique experiences including the opportunity to meet and play with some of the worlds best players including Sergio Garcia, Mike Weir, Jon Mills to name a few and he’s had the opportunity to meet the games most dominant player–Tiger Woods.
Bryan takes a hands-on and well organized approach to club management and looks forward to sharing his knowledge and ideas with our GCOOL students.
