Making the Move from ARIC to Castlegar and Nelson

Teams Moving to the Castlegar Campus and the Tenth Street Campus

We’re excited to share that the Selkirk Innovates and School of Environment & Geomatics teams working at the Applied Research and Innovation Centre (ARIC) will be relocating to the Bonnington Wing of the Castlegar Campus and Tenth Street Campus. This move is part of Selkirk College’s broader efforts to improve student experience, bring teams closer together and support long-term cost-saving goals.

What the Move Means

  • The Selkirk Innovates Geospatial Team and GIS programs teams are moving to the Castlegar and Nelson campuses. They will join us at the Castlegar Campus in the Bonnington Wing and the Tenth Street Campus. Renovations will take place over the summer to create refreshed lab and office spaces at the Castlegar Campus, including opening larger lab spaces, updating infrastructure and aligning layouts to better support program needs.
  • No B-Wing Labs are available for the Spring Term. Starting May 1, Castlegar B-Wing lab spaces will be unavailable for class bookings or exams due to renovation work. If you have any summer lab scheduling concerns for Castlegar, please reach out to your supervisor so that alternate considerations can be made.
  • Office relocations. New office locations for employees moving from ARIC to the Castlegar Campus are being finalized.

This relocation is just one of many steps the college is taking to optimize resources and operate more sustainably. We’re proud of how this change supports people and programs. Most importantly, we’re thrilled to welcome the Selkirk Innovates and School of Environment & Geomatics teams into our Castlegar and Nelson campus communities—they will contribute to a more collaborative, supportive environment for all.

Thank you for your flexibility and patience as we move forward with this change. If you have any concerns, please reach out to your dean or director.
