Audrey Was an Honorary Lifetime Member of the Selkirk College Board of Governors

—From the desk of Margaret Sutherland, Chair of the Board of Governors

With deep sadness, we share the passing of Audrey Moore, an honorary lifetime member of the Selkirk College Board of Governors. Audrey chaired the Board of Governors from 1994 to 1999. She was a relentless champion for the college throughout her life, endowing the Audrey and Bill Moore Scholarship and encouraging us all to proudly celebrate the value the college brings to our region, BC and Canada.

Audrey was very dedicated to public service, serving as mayor of Castlegar from 1973 to 1990 and contributing her leadership to the Castlegar Library Board, the BC Police Commission, and the Press Council, among other organizations. Audrey was recognized nationally as a recipient of the Order of Canada, and her legacy of service and advocacy has shaped our college and community in lasting ways.

On behalf of the board, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Audrey’s family and all who knew her. We’ll miss her.
