How did you make your way to the Selkirk College Board of Governors?

I have worked at Selkirk College since 2008. In June 2024, when I was elected chair of the Education Council, I became an ex-official member of the board.

Describe one of your favourite Selkirk College moments.

Many moons ago, shortly after I was hired to teach at Selkirk College, I had my first son. My school chair was kind enough to let me bring my baby, asleep in his car seat, into class while I taught. Luckily, he was a good sleeper and never woke up. The students were disappointed, but I was relieved!

What's the best advice you ever received?

Follow your heart; it will take you where you belong.

What is something you enjoy doing outside of serving the college?

I enjoy spending time with my family in the mountains.
