Strategic Plan Steering Committee

Developing a New Strategic Plan

A strategic plan helps define who we are, including our vision, values and commitments. It outlines our goals and creates a shared road map for achieving them.

Building Remarkable Futures: Strategic Plan 2019-2024 has guided us for last five years. We’re examining our key priorities and visual identity and charting our evolution over the coming years through the development of a new strategic plan.

What We Heard

Between January and April 2024, Selkirk College in partnership with Higher Education Strategy Associates completed consultations on the development of a new strategic plan. These included both internal and external consultations and online surveys with employees, students, industry and community partners, donors and alumni, chambers of commerce, local/regional government representatives and interested citizens as well as with regional First Nation and Metis communities.

The resulting data has been compiled into What We Heard: Building the Next Selkirk College Strategic Plan Together. Read it to find out the three major themes that came out of consultation and the methodology that was used to determine these themes. If you have any questions or comments, please contact Maïca Murphy at HESA.

Environmental Scan

The Selkirk College Strategic Plan Environmental Scan, compiled by Higher Education Strategy Associates, provides an overview of the sector, highlighting external factors that impact operations but are beyond the college’s control. Some of these factors include the economy, demographic trends, evolving student expectations and shifting legal and regulatory requirements.

Collaboration & Consultation
