Chair Set Up Ergonomics

  1. Seat Height – adjust height such that feet are flat and thighs are parallel to the floor. Avoids pressure under your thighs, easing blood flow.
  2. Back Angle adjustment – adjust to change the angle of your torso in relation to your thighs. The chair should be slightly reclined to distribute the load of the body to the back rest of the chair and minimize spinal loading.
  3. Seat Depth Adjustment – change the depth of the seat to accommodate the length of your thighs. Keep your back in contact with the backrest while allowing at least two inches of clearance behind the knees.
  4. Chair Tilt Lock – unlock the tilt and adjust the tension (5) to support your body weight. The backrest should move freely and support you throughout the recline range.
  5. Tension Adjustment – increase or decrease to match your body weight. Allows you to rock comfortably, without heavy pushing, reducing muscle fatigue.
  6. Lumbar Back Support – turn the knob on the back of your chair to fit the backrest curvature to the small of the lower back
  7. Arm Rests – adjust the height of your arm rests by using the knob on the outside of the rests to maintain your elbows at 90 degrees when seated. Use the button on the inside of the rests to move the rests forward or backward.
