Arranging for Eligible Students
Eligible students with disabilities can write their exams in a separate setting with their eligible academic accommodations. Below are the exam processes for accommodated exams by campus.
Castlegar Exam Scheduling
The Accessibility Services Centre exam writing hours are:
- Monday: 8 am to 3:30 pm
- Tuesday: 8 am to 3:30 pm
- Wednesday: 8 am to 3:30 pm
- Thursday: 8 am to 3:30 pm
- Friday: 8 am to 3:30 pm
Please note that most exams will overlap with the class exam writing time. In order to have exams written within the centre hours, for students with an extended time accommodation, the exams can either be scheduled to start before the class writing time and finish at the class finish time, or can start at the class exam start time and continue longer. Class time may be missed due to the adjusted center hours and extended time accommodations. In exceptional circumstances, where a class cannot be missed, students may get permission from the Accessibility Coordinator, who will contact the instructor, to write the exam on a different day and time then the scheduled exam.
Castlegar & Trail Exam Request Form
New exam booking process for instructors as of August 15, 2022.
In order for students to book and confirm exam writing times, the student will first complete a student exam booking form. When the student completes the form and clicks submit, it will be automatically emailed to accessibilityservices@selkirk.ca.
Once the Accessibility Services invigilator receives the first student exam booking request, the invigilator will email the instructor with a request for the instructor to complete ONE instructor exam booking form for the specific exam date.
Please note: It is important for instructors to complete the exam booking form as soon as possible. Promptly completing the ONE exam booking form will ensure the accurate booking of computers, rooms and invigilators. As instructors have experienced, the number of students who have approved exam accommodations and write their exams with Accessibility Services has increased greatly and will continue to increase.
