Important Notice for Winter Holiday Closure for 2025

In accordance with our past practice, the college will observe statutory holidays in the same way as provincial government offices.

The college will close to the public on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 4 pm, and reopen on Friday, January 2, 2026.

Holiday stats for all employee groups are: December 25, 26, 2025, and January 1, 2026.

Specifics for Employee Groups

BCGEU

• As per Article 12.6, the days falling between Christmas and New Year’s (December 29, 30 and 31) should be reported as non-instructional duty days.

EXEMPT

• As per Section 5, December 24 is a statutory holiday. Per Section 4.J., December 29, 30 & 31 are to be reported as days off with pay.

PPWC

• As per Article 8.01 and 8.05 December 24 is a statutory holiday. As per Article 9.07 December 29, 30 and 31 are days off with pay.

SCFA

• Faculty are to report December 24, 29, 30 and 31 as PD, vacation, assigned duty or instructional days.
• As per Article 11.2 Faculty Assistants are to report December 24 as professional development, vacation or assigned duty. December 29, 30 and 31 are days off with pay.
• Note that arrangements for utilizing PD, vacation or assigned duty days should be made with your School Chair/Dean.
